When the Veil between the Worlds is Thin: Holy Nights 2016-2017

Holy Nights, not one but 12 holy nights begin on Christmas eve. A time to search for wisdom within. A Time to Dream. Mindfunda invites you for the Holy Nights Event 2016/2017.

Each year, when the sun is close to the earth and the days are dark, there is an opportunity to connect with your inner light and wisdom.
It is an ancient belief that the sun, being the symbol of our consciousness, is being reborn on Christmas night.

13 Holy nights and the Darkness

According to Rudolf Steiner, the absence of light enables us to look for the light within. Just like one-eyed Odin, who sacrificed one eye for peace, had to learn how to trust his inner vision.

“On these nights, the darkest of the year, are closest to the Sun’s Spirit and this means that the Spiritual Sun shining from inside the Earth makes it translucent and illuminates everything from the inside, not as it is afterwards when the Sun illuminates the Earth from above, from the outside.”

Holy Nights 2016-17: The Plan

When you enrol, you create an account on the Mindfunda Courses page. This will protect the dreams you share here: only other participants of the Holy Nights Event 2016-17 are able to reflect on your dreams if you wish for them to do that.
Each day, I share a new incubation with you. At night you read the incubation, if you wish you can create a ritual that will help you to concentrate on the theme of that day.

We start Christmas Eve 2016, December 24. The dreaming of this night is said to be precognitive for the month of January 2017. Since on this night the birth of the Spirit on earth is celebrated, our incubation will incorporate a search for your inner light and how you wish to reflect it this new year. Each day I will ask you to give yourself  a gift. It can be a spiritual gift, it can be a nice warm bath, it can be a paragraph you write from the heart to yourself. You will have a nice book filled with positive knowledge about yourself when these holy nights are finished on January 6.

Holy Nights: Epiphany

Each night you read the incubation. If you want to you can create a ritual to enhance the journey inside your spiritual realm. Each night is dedicated to one of the twelve months of 2017. On the last night you will have gotten a better grasp upon your own wisdom and feeling of spirituality.

The last day we will share dreams and you will be asked to write a specific intention for yourself to embrace your inner wisdom every day. It has to be something tangible, something you can touch, feel or see. For example: you can write down at least two things that you feel really good about each day. Or write a certain amount of words on your new novel. Or study a subject you want your mind to indulge in.

Holy Nights 2016-17: join now!

You treat yourself to:

Evaluation Holy Nights

12 holy days - evaluation

Rudolf Steiner, who re-introduced the concept of the Holy Nights in the 1900s, based the 12 nights on the spiritual lessons of each astrological sign. In his spiritual view on the world, the sign travels through the signs each day, and the human spirit travels through the lessons of the sun sign each month. So the 12 days were the initiations of the spiritual lessons of the coming year.
I have taken a slightly different approach, by focussing on how the moon is connected with dream content. The Moon has traveled through six signs these past 12 Holy Nights, and I have focussed on one aspect of these six signs each night.

Looking back on the dreams we have gathered together I focused on our group as a dream community and asked myself the question: How did we dream as a dream community? Did common themes that prevail? Did mutual dreams occur? Did common themes emerged and evolve?

Our dreams

Our dreams started out quite big. The Fisher King, The Spider Goddess, the Great God Pan, they all said hello to us. Mutual dreaming occurred in my eyes around the Tree of Life. It was important in my incubation and almost all of us seemed to gather around in our dreams under the Tree of Life. The color Gold was also dreamed by multiple people, as were mandala’s and circles. Dreams about art and creativity: plays, books and drawings were shared. We striped down in our dreams to our naked selves, even if we sometimes did not like it. We went back to the essential Selves we ought to be.

The Mother Goddess was abundantly present: manifested as mother Mary, as the Spider Goddess, as the Wolf with magnetizing blue eyes. The Mouse was dreamed upon for its totem qualities for precision and refinement.

I would like to hear your interpretations on the series of dreams you had. Because I only made your dreams my dreams, it is just my vision I have given you the past few days.  Thank you for participating and making this such a joyful and inspiring event.

The 12 Holy Days (and 13 Holy Nights)

The old presumption that on January 1 the Earth was as close as possible to the Earth. So the five and a half days before, and five and a half days after that day, together sum up the 12 days of Christmas. On each day we travel inward and meditate so in the night we can dream about what is to come. We are sowing the seeds for next year so we got to be careful that these are the seeds of love.

The Song 12 days of Christmas

You must know the song “12 days of Christmas“. This old song stems back to the middle ages. The True love in the song is the love of the Should, born on Christmas day.

Ann Ball writes in “Handbook of Catholic Sacramentals”:

The two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments

The three French hens stood for faith, hope, and love.

The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

The five golden rings represented the first five books of the Old Testament, which describe man’s fall into sin and the great love of God in sending a Savior.

The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit—–Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit—–Charity, Joy, Peace, Patience [Forbearance], Goodness [Kindness], Mildness, Fidelity, Modesty, Continency [Chastity].

The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.

The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful Apostles.

The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in The Apostles’ Creed.

The magic of  the number 12

Jesus had 12 Apostles. Ra, the Egyptian Sun God, had 12 deities on his solar boat. There were 12 Gods living on the Olympus. There are 12 acupuncture meridians  in the body. Remember Cinderella? 12 o’clock was a turning point in her life.

In numerology, 1 signifies the beginning of the universe (or the Self), while 2 symbolizes partnership and cooperation.
If you want to master an unhealthy addiction, you follow the 12 step program.

There is magic in the number 12. Mindfunda invites you to experience it during the Holy Night dream incunations.

Dreaming during the Holy Nights is starting at December 24th with the final day on January 6th. This day will be used for inner reflection on the dreams we have dreamed. An invitation to look back to the past nights, and to look forward to the New Year. In my incubations I will divote some attention to the Moon.

The Moon has a special relationship with dreams. Or is it the other way around? For me the relationship is symbiotic. The Moon, with its cycle of 28 days, represents the woman’s cycle of 28 days. The hormones of your cycle influence your dreams. Connie Kaplan, in “The Woman’s Book of Dreams” distinguishes special qualities dream content can have during it’s cycle.

And in the time period of December 26 through January 6th, the Moon travels through six signs:

1: December 25 – 26; Cancer
Each month when the Moon is in Cancer, dreams may bring forth the dreamer’s personal relationship with the light and dark cosmic dance” Connie Kaplan says.
These two nights our incubations will focus more on acknowledging our own darkness and finding strength in it. Without darkness, there would be no light.

2: December 27 – 28; Leo
The ruler of Leo is the Sun. In our western society we have attributed the animus to the sun. We will focus in our incubations on the conscious part of our being. We will contemplate on how to act, on what we want to achieve this year.

3: December 29 – 31; Virgo
Virgo is perfectionism. Rules, schedules, all the things that you need to be structured in life. But Virgo dreams also have a physical aspect: Virgo rules the intestines and the pancreas. Food dreams can be possible while the Moon is in Virgo.

4: January 01 – 02; Libra
Libra represents life’s balancing force. Dreams can reflect unbalanced energies you had during the past year that you need to attent to. I will invite you for a journey into the underworld to find hidden treasures.

5: January 03- 05; Scorpio
Anchor points of Scorpio are transformation, death and rebirth. We will focus on these qualities in our dreaming. We will look beneath the surface, visiting our inner cave of wisdom. Meeting our guide, our inner Shaman to give us advice for the year ahead.

6: January 6th; Sagittarius
On our final day we will evaluate our dreams, look for common threads and evaluate. Connie Kaplan considers dreaming while the moon is in the sign it was when you were born very special dream – power nights.

You can research your own birth Moon sign using the link.
